Julian Beamish GDC-68343 BChD
A native of South Wales now living in York, Julian qualified from Leeds Dental Institute in 1992 and has worked at various practices in the York area before joining Elmet Dental Care as a partner in April 2009.
He has a commitment to post graduate training and is constantly updating his skills to keep up to date with the rapid advances made in modern dentistry. Julian has studied year long courses in dental implants and cosmetic dentistry at the Tipton training academy in Manchester and has a keen interest in preventing dental disease and treating patients gently and with minimal intervention.
Outside of work Julian is kept busy by his wife Karima, who sometimes helps out at the practice, and two young children Leah and Joe.

Nicholas qualified at Liverpool Dental Hospital in 1979 and spent his first few years working in general practice in Merseyside. In 1984 he returned with his family to Yorkshire and he has practiced dentistry at Elmet Dental Care since then. Nicholas is always keen to keep his clinical skills up to date by attending regular courses. His reputation for providing patients with an honest opinion on their treatment and for carrying out dentistry of a high standard are well known in the area.
Nicholas is a family man who enjoys a variety of outdoor pursuits such as skiing and cycling.


Kasia qualified from the Medical University of Łodz, Poland in 2001 and moved to York in 2005 for a completely new challenge.
She began working in a large, well established dental practice providing NHS and private dental care.
In 2009 Kasia graduated with distinction from Manchester University with an MSc in Maxillofacial Surgery.
In 2016 she completed an endodontic course, the aim of which was to learn and practise the most contemporary techniques in root canal treatment.
Kasia has an enormous sense of pride in her dentistry, and is passionate about restoring and maintaining a healthy and beautiful smile.
Outside of work, Kasia is a competitive marathon runner, goes to live music concerts and enjoys spending time with her husband Ben and young children, Zuzanna and Emilia.

Ruth (hygienist/therapist)

Ruth qualified as a Dental Hygiene Therapist in 2005 from the Leeds Dental Institute and joined our team in August 2012. Ruth is passionate about helping patients improve their oral hygiene and treats everyone with a friendly, caring manner.
When Ruth isn’t working she enjoys skiing in France and walking in the Lake District.


During the last 18 years Karima has had a great deal of experience working within the dental profession.
She qualified as a Dental Nurse in 1999 and in her previous role she was a Treatment Co-ordinator which involved working closely with all new patients, reassuring those who suffer with dental phobias and supporting them throughout their treatment. Nothing is too much trouble for Karima, if you need anything at all she will do her best to help you. She also worked closely with her manager and helped with the everyday running and marketing of the practice.
Her role at Elmet Dental Care involves the smooth running of the practice, focusing on delivering outstanding patient care and supporting the development of our fabulous team.


Tanya has been at the practice for 25yrs. Her organisational skills are invaluable and her friendly & bubbly personality lead to a relaxed atmosphere in the practice.
Tanya enjoys family time and socialising when away from work.


Jo has enjoyed working at EDC for the last 4 years and quickly gained her Dental nurse qualification. Her calm and friendly nature is always reassuring for patients.


Pam joined the practice in and her wealth of experience ensures smooth running in the clerical and reception areas.
Outside work Pam enjoys her extended grandparents duties & socialising.


Roisin originally gained her qualification as a Dental Nurse while training at EDC 8 yrs ago. Her motivation & organisational skills are valued by the practice.
Roisin is also a qualified Dental Radiographer and her responsibilities include reception duty, nursing and taking radiographs.


Wendy joined the practice after leaving school and has been with us ever since apart from two maternity breaks. Wendy has also gained a qualification in taking impressions for making models of the teeth. She enjoys contact with patients and is a trained oral health educator.


Leah has recently joined the team at Elmet Dental Care as an Apprentice Dental Nurse.
She is extremely enthusiastic about her new career and has settled in just perfectly. Her warm, friendly and caring approach has all the qualities that we think will make an excellent dental nurse.
In her free time, she loves to socialise with friends and family and enjoys a bit of retail therapy.


Maisie is our newest member of the team and will be working on reception welcoming our patients to the practice and co-ordinating their appointments.
Having worked at Jet 2 as a passenger service agent she gained exceptional customer service skills, she clearly loves meeting our patients and getting to know them. Maisie’s approachable, calm friendly manner and her commitment to learn are the attributes that will make her a fantastic receptionist.
She enjoys socialising with family and friends on her days off.
